Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Guidelines for submission of Research Papers for publication in Panjab Journal of Sikh Studies
  1. The research paper should be the results of original research and give ample evidence of scholarship, which should be creative, independent in character and fundamental in nature.
  2. Both softcopy and hardcopy of article in MSWord, along with Abstract of the paper in about 100-150 words, are accepted.
  3. Research papers/articles written in Punjabi should be typed in Anmol-font (Punjabi), and Times New Roman (English).
  4. The format should be in accordance with the latest MLA Handbook.

    Books: Gupta, Dipankar, The Context of Ethinicity

    Articles: Pinney, Christopher, ‘Photos of the Gods’, The Printed Image and Political Struggle in India, Oxford University Press, New Delhi, 2004, P. 26
  5. Graphs, Tables and Charts in MS Office (Word /Excel format-Black and White) or equivalent format are preferred. Fonts for special characters also be provided.
  6. All articles submitted for publication shall be used subject to the positive reports experts in the relevant fields of specialization. Research papers not found suitable shall not be returned unless accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope. With regard to the acceptance or rejection of the research papers, the decision of the editorial board shall be final and binding. In this regard, the editorial board shall not entertain any correspondence from the contributors.
  7. Manuscripts and all editorial correspondence, including comments on the contents of the Journal, should be addressed to the Chief Editor, Panjab Journal of Sikh Studies.

  8. Contributors must provide their complete postal address and e-mail address with their papers.
  9. Papers submitted for consideration for publication in the Journal, should be original and not published elsewhere earlier.
  10. Contribution to PJSS are advised to be careful as not to violate any provisions of the Copyright Act and the rules made there under as regards the material/maps and spellings of Gurbani quotes used in articles or their sources and/or of the computer software and spellings of Gurbani quotes used by them. The Journal is not responsible for any violations or lapses, in this regard, on the part of the contributors.
  11. The copy right of the papers, published in PJSS rests solely with journal; any reproduction of the contents of the Journal will have to be done with written permission of the PJSS.
  12. Contributions should be submitted electronically through email.
  13. Papers should not be more than 9,000 words. The word limit is inclusive of all notes, reference tables, annexures and appendices.
  14. Notes should be numbered serially and presented as endnotes. Notes, other than website sources, must contain more than a mere reference.
  15. The Journal reserves its right to make stylistic changes or other editorial changes in the article (s) submitted and accepted for publication.
  16. PJSS is a referred journal and all manuscripts will be subjected to a double blind referral system.

    All payments should be made through a Bank draft drawn in favor of Registrar, Panjab University Chandigarh in Account No.10444978333. The subscription request may be sent to the Chief Editor Panjab Journal of Sikh Studies also along with the draft in favor of Registrar, Panjab University. The Journal is readily available at Panjab University Publication Bureau on payment.
  17. One copy of the issue in which it is published shall be sent free of cost to each contributor. Additional copies of the journal shall be supplied at the usual rates, plus the necessary postal charges.
